December 2023 - Extra Menu x Gut Oggau

On Wednesday, December 13, Menu Extra welcomes none other than winemakers Eduard & Stephanie Tscheppe from the Gut Oggau vineyard for a gastronomic evening celebrating their wines. Come and sit down with us to taste the greatest vintages from the Austrian vineyard. The duo will be on hand for this unique evening, organized in partnership with the agency Le vin dans les voiles.


The creation of one of the most famous vineyards in Eastern Europe began when Eduard and Stephanie bought an abandoned winery in an Austrian village called Oggau in 2007. They settled there and decided to work the old neglected vines biodynamically, to give them a second life. From the first bottling, the couple noticed that the wines were radically different from one plot to another, and that they had unique characteristics! They then had the idea of creating an imaginary family to demonstrate the difference and the personalities of each cuvée, which bear their name and their face.

The wines of Gut Oggau attract and charm with their liveliness and power, but also with their mystery. Since most of the vines are co-planted, the landmarks are blurred, so you have to forget the sommelier classes, take a good sip and appreciate the talent of these passionate winemakers.

Only a few cases of these precious bottles are coming to Canada, so we are extremely proud to have the most complete range ever assembled here. After talking at length with Eduard and Stephanie, we understand that these wines were created with the intention of being accompanied by a good meal and above all, by good living. It is an honour to pair our gastronomy with the legendary Gut Oggau winery.
