Description

On Wednesday, December 6, Menu Extra welcomes two emblematic winemakers from their respective regions: Frank Cornelissen on Etna and Jean-Pierre Robinot in the Loire. During this unique evening, organized in partnership with Vanya Filipovic and Les Vins Dame-Jeanne, these two great wine artisans who have been friends for a very long time will be with us to share with you all their passion for vines and their terroir. We will have access to exceptional vintages and will offer you a tasting menu specially designed for this unique gastronomic experience.

Jean-Pierre Robinot is a living legend in the world of natural wine. A true jack-of-all-trades, he was a journalist, a professional cyclist, he opened one of the first natural wine bars in the world and now makes exceptional wines in the Loire. His Chenin Blanc and Pineau d'Aunis are unique, vibrant and true windows into the complex territory of his native village: Chahaignes.

Frank Cornelissen has quickly become a fixture in Sicily. This unique terroir gives the wine a smoky minerality that many people love. The vineyard is literally in symbiosis with the volcanic soil; some plots have even been destroyed by lava flows hurtling down the mountainside. That's the risk you take to produce wines that today define the Etna volcano!

As an aperitif, winemaker Sebastian Van de Sype, Cornelissen's great accomplice, will present the 2020 vintage of his Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro.
