Barranco Oscuro, VDT Andalusia, Cerro Las Monjas, 2004

A true pioneer of the region, Barranco Oscuro settled at an altitude of 1,000 meters, a few kilometers from the ocean, and decided to plant, in addition to regional grape varieties, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot. When he received Spain's first organic certification, he quickly decided to reject it, finding it too permissive. This vintage has stood the test of time, bringing tertiary aromas like leather, cigar, and blackcurrant to a wine with melted tannins.
